It is my distinct honor to introduce Robert J. DeKeyser as the 2012 Ted Smith Memorial Practitioner of the Year. Bob DeKeyser is a prime example of what makes the field of School Psychology great in Illinois. Bob has practiced in the field for the past 35 years. As one of his colleagues at the Winnebago County Special Education Cooperative, I can say that we look upon him as our leader, our knowledgeable mentor, our steadfast advocate, and our loyal friend. Bob's professional accomplishments are, of course, numerous. But more than that, Bob has the ability to pull the best out of everyone around him. His actions inspire others to do more and to be more. On many occasions, I have heard adult professionals proclaim, "I want to be Bob when I grow up!" He has given more to the field of School Psychology than he probably realizes or would ever admit. It is with great honor that we bestow this great honor on Bob DeKeyser. – Linda McLarty
