Robert Ingraham
ISPA is proud to announce that Dr. Robert Ingraham has been chosen as the 2011 Practitioner of the Year. Dr. Ingraham has worked as a school psychologist at Palatine High School in District 211 since 1978. During his years of service in the Palatine community, Dr. Ingraham has completed over 1,000 case study evaluations, participated in over 12,000 parent meetings and IEP conferences, facilitated more than 100 support groups, delivered dozens of in-service presentations, and responded to over 10,000 e-mail messages. In the words of a district administrator, “It is almost impossible to put on paper the impact ‘Dr. Bob’ (as he is affectionately known) has had on the students, staff, parents, interns, and school psychologists not only in Township High School District 211, but well beyond the district boundaries.”
Bob’s letters of support repeated make mention of his professionalism, uncompromising commitment, tireless dedication, and valuable contributions. As one colleague noted, “Bob has continuously resisted the request to work as an administrator, preferring to spend his career working directly with students, families, and staff.” He has implemented a variety of programs aimed at improving the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning of his students. In the words of another administrator, “It is not only the ‘big picture’ programs and initiatives that Bob has spearheaded; it is the continual day-to-day actions and interactions that touch individuals every day that make him an outstanding school psychologist and person.”
