Karen is currently a practitioner with Chicago Public Schools. She has also served that district as Director of Psychological Services. Karen has worked diligently to expand the role and function of the school psychologist in Chicago and was at the forefront of the development of School Based Problem Solving teams. Karen is described as a visionary with the willpower and skills to move a large bureaucracy like Chicago Public Schools forward in terms of practice and professional development. One colleague wrote of Karen, “From the first day of her internship, Karen showed exceptional knowledge in the field of school psychology, the ability to interact effectively with the adults in the school and community environments, and the sensitivity to actively engage with all children.”
