Illinois ASPIRE

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) started Illinois ASPIRE (Alliance for School-Based Problem-Solving and Intervention Resources in Education) with funds from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Implemented through four regional training centers (northern, central, southern, and Chicago), Illinois ASPIRE will establish and implement a coordinated, regionalized system of personnel development that will increase the capacity of school systems to provide early intervening services, aligned with the general education curriculum, to at-risk students and students with disabilities. Illinois ASPIRE is particularly involved in providing professional development to schools in Illinois wanting to implement the problem-solving method. Visit the Illinois ASPIRE website (http://www.isbe.state.il.us/SPEC-ED/html/illinois-aspire.htm) for more information.
