·         CHSD 218 is seeking multiple interns for the 2018-2019 school year. Internships include opportunities to gain experience in a traditional high school, a district alternative high school, an adult transition program as well as outside private placement locations. CHSD 218 is a progressive district offering learning opportunities including the use of Q-interactive test administration, consultation with Neuropsychologists at an on-site Neuropsychological clinic, and qualify professional development. Interns will have an opportunity to learn within a diverse school setting with a wide range of student populations and disabilities. Interns will be involved in the assessment of students for initial or reevaluation case studies for special education needs as well as 504 services. They will administer assessments in the areas of cognitive, academic, functional, and social-emotional domains. Interns will practice writing reports, presenting evaluation results and completing required IEP and 504 paperwork. Opportunities to participate in crisis counseling as well as individual and group counseling are available. Additionally, interns will gain exposure to the district MTSS program, conducting Functional Behavior Analyses, creating Behavior Intervention Plans, consulting with staff, working with parents and collaborating with outside agencies all under the direct supervision of district school psychologists. Opportunities for supervision by a doctoral level school psychologist are available. CHSD 218 has been supervision service learning students, practicum students and interns for many years. Internship will include opportunities to engage with and learn from other students pursuing their career in school psychology.
